After too many years of black eyes and broken bones, Mary fled to a shelter with her 3 daughters in tow. In the shelter Mary learned she was not alone. She became stronger. In turn, her daughters quickly learned to follow the example set by their mother. Daughters will be as strong as their mothers. They learn by example. It’s what matters and what works.
Ernie & Brianna grew up watching their father horrifically abuse their mom. After their father was arrested and sentenced to 2 years of prison for attempted murder,
Ernie began to show the effects of witnessing violence. He turned his violence onto his sister. Community intervention was immediately initiated. The cycle ended.
Stop abuse as soon as it begins, get help, find people you can trust to talk with and when you walk away don’t look back.

Nancy Whiskey Bar Tribeca Book Tour 12/06/11
It was a warm wet night in Tribeca. The patrons at the Nancy Whiskey Pub were happy drinking and playing bumper
shuffleboard. Melissa, the lovely bartender, made sure that everyone in the bar knew the TriBeca Book was in the
house and ready to go home with them that very night. It was such a fun crowd. The regulars were friendly.
But Willy and the rest of the Verizon boys never showed up. So, the plan is we are going to do it again before
Xmas. One more chance in the Nancy Whiskey Bar corral..Stay tuned for the next book signing date. Thanks

Marrus Family TriBeCa book signing party
Jen and Andrew created an amazing party in their lovely home. Great friends from
the neighborhood came to celebrate and buy their TriBeCa book. I was fascinated
by how many of the people who bought books wanted me to inscribe them for their
children of all ages. What I learned last night is a real neighborhood is where people
watch out for each other, cherish the good times and work together through the rough
patches. A neighborhood is like an ark. We must build it to endure whatever is coming
for the sake of future generations.
